“Scott McDaniel”

“Scott McDaniel, moved to Alaska in 1948. He and his wife, Maxine, planned to spend a year before going to college. Both fell in love with Alaska and have been there ever since. In 1949 they homesteaded at Kenny Lake. Scott had always loved to paint, and he began to paint Alaska he could see around him. When his cabin at the homestead burned to the ground in 1951 he offered his paintings for sale out of necessity. To his delight they sold, from then on he painted as often as he could. In 1969 he finally decided to paint full time.

Scott has become a well know Alaskan artist. He travels the State extensively collection material and exhibiting his work. His paintings have won national awards and his list of collectors grows steadily each year. His paintings are in private collections in most states and several foreign countries. He had exhibited in Hawaii, California, and Washington as well as throughout the State of Alaska. He has had paintings in National Art Shows that toured the States. He has paintings hanging in the Offices of the White House in Washington D. C. and the Office of the President of the Republic of Germany.

Scott studied at Vallejo Jr. College and with private teachers. He has taught in California, Washington, Hawaii and Alaska”
